Sure, that sounds like something from a bad espionage fiction where the intelligence community with-holds information from their leader because they feel that their leader is incapable of handling the information.
In those stories, it leads to the intelligence community taking over the reigns of the government and running it like a shadow monarch, leaving the leader as a puppet figure on a throne...damn, that actually sounds good right now. At least it means that someone competent is running America.
In most scenarios, that would be a bad thing but fuck, man. This is Donald Trump you are talking about. The man undermines his own staff, takes credit for everything (and I mean everything, including the bad when they are desperately trying to make him look good. He goes and says, 'I meant to do this despotic thing from the very start) and just cannot keep his mouth shut.
So yeah...fuck it, bring Stephen Bannon back, if only because that would mean that Trump is just the figurehead leader and nothing more than that.
