It never appeared to be easy to be working for Donald Trump, mostly because of the way he runs things, especially given how he runs his businesses. Make them thank us, his handbook says. You want them to be praising us. Never give ground, we are always on the pedestal.
But you're in politics. The very idea of politics is negotiate a deal that is good for everyone. Compromises need to be made to make as many people as possible happy and Trump does not like that.
There's also the fact that in the end, all of the big jobs will go to his relatives and people who are tied to him financially, in that order. Why bother signing up when you know that Trump's nepotistic tendencies will make him choose someone that will benefit him greatly?
And there's the significant fact that working for Trump is really shitty. People have declined to work for him simply because his style is too chaotic. Let's face it, everyone wants a job that is nice and stable and without too much trouble and Trump is Trouble.
He'll get someone into the positions that he needs eventually but it'll take too long and things will not be done. Plain and simple.
