So it looks like Trump Jr did meet with a Russian lawyer in order to gain damaging information regarding Hilary Clinton. According to his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, it doesn't matter since he got no meaningful information from the meeting. Therefore no harm done right?
Not according to some lawyers, who have said when this first came up, this still counts as a breach of federal law. This is still an attempt to solicit, accept or receive” a contribution or “anything of value” from a
foreign person for a U.S. political campaign or “for the purpose of
influencing any election for federal office.”
Some might argue it's only an attempt and that it didn't work out so why should he be punished for it. Well, in that case, it can be argued that if you fail to kill someone, you shouldn't have to go to jail for it. Is that what you really want?
Bear in mind though, Trump will mostly likely pardon Trump Jr in order to push things out of people's mind but bear in mind that this is just going to make things worse for him for half of America and the world's view. Granted, he's shit deep in the pit right now so he can only just dive further in to eat some more shit.
